MTCC Caribbean's Women in Maritime Decarbonization Regional Webinar for the Caribbean
MTCC Caribbean is hosting a "Women for Maritime Decarbonization” online workshop, under the IMO CARES Project.
This online event is focused on the promotion of the involvement of women in maritime decarbonization, especially in technology-related activities.
The IMO CARES Project is implemented by the International Maritime Organization and funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project aims to advance global efforts in reducing shipping emissions by promoting technology-focused partnerships, demonstration of technologies, and knowledge sharing between the global north and south.

Trading in the Pre-Colonial Caribbean | World History Project
Migrations from the Central and South American mainland to the Caribbean islands began c. 5000 BCE. Over the course of thousands of years, indigenous peoples created communities and established networks of exchange between islands and with the mainland. Trade goods such as jade, ceramics, shells, and teeth moved across aquatic highways. However, these highways would change dramatically after 1492 with the arrival of the Spanish and the sustained connections between the Eastern and Western Hemispheres.

MTCC Caribbean's "Maritime Emissions Inventories and Progress Within NDCs" Webinar
The webinar features a presentations by Dr. Donnie Boodlal, who provided an Overview of the NDCs of the Caribbean Countries and Mr. Stephan Nanan, who presented on incorporating Maritime GHG Emissions Initiatives within NDCs of Caribbean Countries. The webinar was moderated by Captain Sukhjit Singh and featured a very experience panel on the topic.
The Global Maritime Technology Cooperation Centre (MTCC) Network (GMN) is financed by the European Union and Implemented by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Maritime Decarbonization – Research and Development: Caribbean and Global Perspectives
The IMO CARES Foundation Project in collaboration with MTCC Caribbean hosted the first virtual workshop on the IMO CARES Project. The workshop aimed to facilitate regional consultations on the IMO CARES concept, provide perspectives on maritime decarbonization R&D and identify challenges and solutions related to maritime decarbonization technology within the region.
The IMO CARES Foundation Project is funded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is implemented by IMO.
